Back To The Basics - Survivng Flu Season
Everywhere we turn today we are reminded that we are in the middle of a pretty severe flu season. It's all over the news, social media and every retailer in town has placed a mountain of disinfectant wipes, sprays and every scent of alcohol hand gel known to man in the center of their stores. In an effort to help reduce the chances of contracting the flu, my family and I have decided to go back to the basics. We've ramped up the "old school" defenses that just seem to make sense. In addition to just being aware of our surroundings, I find that the following tips are some of our best defenses this flu season. I would love to hear what "back to basic" strategies you have decided to employ for you and your family. Feel free to leave a comment and share with others.

Microgreen Benefits:
The benefits of microgreens depend on the type of microgreen you are eating. You can eat them by the handful or add them to your favorite salad or smoothie.
I purchase my microgreens at the United Farmers Market of Maine in Belfast, Maine from Kate Hall. Kate is the owner of Grãze, an amazing microgreen business out of Northport, Maine. In addition to microgreens, Kate also offers freshly squeezed juice shots. (link below). If you don't have a local seller near you, microgreens can also be grown easily in your own home right on your windowsill.

Naps...not just for babies and kittens
Despite the stigmas associated with napping such as laziness, lack of ambition and low standards, there are multiple benefits to taking a nap. A 20-30 minute nap:
